1.Give us your elevator pitch.
Sassy Natural Hair has been supplying 100% Natural human hair, synthetic hair and wigs for the last 4 years
2. Why did you start your business?
Prior to launching, I was a teacher and I still am. But didn’t want to stop there, so I decided to research other sources of income, and I landed on hair business.
3. How much Capital did you start with?
I started with just $100 USD and gradually increased my capital to about $300 USD (the max I ever invested).
4. What hair styles do you have?
Basically we have all the different hair styles from Straight, to the different types of Waves, kinky curly, and Kinky- straight. Our hair comes in different shades so the client can have a variety of hair colors to choose from.
5. What are the top reasons why you have been successful in business?
For me it is passion, consistency and excitement about growth. I’m consistent in my prices, I keep them low and affordable. I also have passion for teaching so I offer free training and marketing techniques to my clients on how to start and grow their own hair business. My quest for growth has also inspired me to search for new markets such as the United States and many other countries.
6. What risks does your business face?
We do face challenges when shipping worldwide, but we always advice our clients to check with their country’s custom regulations on import, after which they will advise us on how to ship their goods.
7. How do you market your products?
I use social media and I also list my business on search listings like Iwing Marketplace which is frequently visited by my target market, that is people of African Descent.
8. How do you relax?
Walking helps me relax. I also love listening to music and dancing.
9. What is your message to Africa’s young aspiring business people and entrepreneurs?
It’s quite easy to start your own business. No matter where you are in the world, it is easier to take a small action than it is to take a big one, so make sure to start small. There is nothing wrong with thinking big. When it comes to taking action and making progress, starting small is the key.
10. What are your future plans?
I plan to help more young Africans start their own hair business, I also plan to provide them with knowledge to grow their business. `
